Kashima City has an old history. You may see Thatched-roof Houses at various places in the city including Hizen Hamashuku. In addition, the site of Kashima Castle is maintained as Asahigaoka Park, and it is becoming a popular tourist spot together with "Bukeyashikidori(samurai residence street)" around it. Kashima City's attraction is to see the historic buildings and scenery not found in the big city.
