Hiratani Onsen

It is a hot spring located in the upper stream of Nakagawa River that pours into the Ariake Sea, near the climbing mouth of Mt.Kyogadake. Located in a beautiful scenic spot, it is a landmark of autumn leaves in Kashima City. It is speculated that it was used as a health resort for samurai and commoners since the late Edo period. There are inner baths and outdoor baths for men and women, and two private baths.
